What happens at the appointment?
How long until I see results?
Your initial appointment will take about 2-3 hours and will include a full consultation as well as your treatment itself. Following this, I normally ask you to come back for a touch up around four to six weeks later.
We will discuss your treatment in detail together to make sure your natural colourings, face shape and desired look are all carefully combined before infusing colour into your skin using a pen-like device, carefully shading your lips with tiny doses of pigment that are deposited below the skin's surface to create your new lip contour or blush.
What are the risks?
The pigmentation will take a couple of weeks to fully settle in. I therefore ask clients to return around 4-6 weeks after treatment to have their tattooed lips touched up. Once this is done the results will last for around a year before any further colour boost is required.
What is the recovery time?
You will be able to go straight back to work following the treatment should you wish. Initially you'll look as if you're wearing heavy lipstick, which will then gradually fade over the next few days. There may be a little swelling and redness directly after the treatment too.
As with all cosmetic procedures, there are minor risks including infection, allergic reaction, misplaced colour or scarring. However, these complications are very rare and I always work to the highest health and safety standards, minimising any risk.
