3D Areola (Nipple) Repigmentation

For many, the journey through breast cancer treatment or surgery doesn’t end in the operating theatre. Restoring the breast’s natural appearance can be an important step in healing, both physically and emotionally.

Nipple and areola tattooing offers a non-surgical way to recreate the look of the nipple after mastectomy or breast surgery. Using advanced tattooing techniques, a natural shape, colour and 3D effect can be designed to restore balance and help clients feel more at home in their own bodies.

Every client’s journey is unique. Some people are completely comfortable without a nipple, while others choose tattooing to restore what surgery could not. Both choices are equally valid, and we are here to support whichever path feels right.

My goal is simple: to give clients the option of a realistic, personalised result that restores confidence, dignity and wholeness.

The 3D effect of areola pigmentation is a popular choice. Using advanced micropigmentation techniques such as shadowing, highlighting, feathering and contouring, I can highly realistic 3D nipple/areola that matches your skin tone and breasts. Additionally, I offer treatments to enhance the breast and create a natural-looking areola and nipple complex following breast reduction and uplift surgeries, gynecomastia surgery, and pre- and post-gender reassignment procedures.
What can medical tattooing do?
  • 3D nipple plus areola post-mastectomy/ reconstruction bilateral or unilateral.

  • Areola too pale.

  • Asymmetry in size and shape.

  • Too small proportionally.

  • Surgery scars surrounding areola.

  • Enhances natural colour.

  • Improves the appearance of the breasts.

  • Helps to restore confidence.

What factors may affect the results?

The result of pigment implantation is partially determined by variations in skin type and can be affected by:

  •  Medication.

  • Natural skin overtones.

  • Skin characteristics (dryness, oiliness, sun damage, thickness, colour, acidity).

  • Lifestyle such as alcohol intake or smoking.

  • Individual healing ability.

A restorative medical tattoo can significantly impact your life. My goal is to help you look happily in the mirror again and enable you to move forward with confidence.

3D Areola (Nipple) Repigmentation FAQs

What happens during my appointment? We’ll chat through exactly what you’ would like the end result to be. This will include looking at your areola shape, size, placement and colourings. I will then ‘pre-draw’ the areola and nipple complex using temporary markers and perfectly match the pigment shades to your skin. This is to make sure the correct style and colours are chosen and the finished result is as natural as possible.

Areola tattooing typically takes three sessions and your appointments may take up to 2.5 hours. I will skilfully infuse the colour into your skin while carefully tracing over the pre-drawn template that you’ve chosen.

Will it hurt? I want you to be completely comfortable at every stage of your treatment. If you still have sensation following your surgery, I will make sure numbing agents are applied and continually check how you’re feeling. My clients usually describe the discomfort as no more than three out of ten.

The great news is you will be able to go straight back to work following the treatment, should you wish. Typically the area around your treatment may be slightly red for about 36 hours and I will apply a sterile dressing, which you wear under your clothes for up to five days. I also provide you with a selection of aftercare products and full aftercare instructions to ensure the best results possible.
